Why Google Calendar reminders can still be missed
Google Calendar notifications are designed to inform you, but a short-lived banner may not interrupt deep work or prompt an immediate decision. Users often see a reminder, plan to join in a few minutes, and then lose track of time.
Meeting Guardian adds an active alarm layer in a browser tab. When the alert appears, the next action is explicit: join, snooze, dismiss, or mark the meeting complete. It does not modify the underlying Google event.
How Google Calendar sync works
After you authorize the read-only Google Calendar scope, Meeting Guardian imports timed events from the connected default calendar for the supported sync horizon. All-day events are skipped. Imported event information may include the title, description, start and end times, and meeting links.
The free plan supports one active calendar connection and manual resync. Pro supports more connections and automatic synchronization. A browser tab must remain open for the in-app alarm to run.
Privacy controls for your Google calendar
Meeting Guardian encrypts OAuth tokens at rest and uses calendar data only to provide meeting display, sync, and alarm features. It does not use Google Calendar data for advertising or general AI training. You can revoke access in Meeting Guardian or from your Google Account.
